Other Work!

Animations, Apps, and a Documentary Short Film can all be explored below!

I recently completed the Google AI Professional Certificate on Coursera, which included in-depth courses on everything from Google’s latest creative tools to data analysis to app building.

Below are a few experiments I’ve been creating with Google Flow- these include animating my drawings, storyboarding my concepts with short trailers, and creating short narrative arcs out of my travel photographs.

Concept Trailers

  • One of my short stories included on my writing page, Nightmares in GrubVille, didn’t have a compelling image associated with it- so I practiced with Google Flow to create a sketched, storyboard style clip of a scene from the short story and a visual for the protagonist and setting.

  • This trailer was inspired by a short comedy film concept I created in college - Doubles Therapy, following a champion doubles team going to tennis therapy for communication issues. In lieu of including the lengthy student film recording, I tried to capture the tone and central conflict in Google Flow to tease the story.

AFTER

I am the biggest lover of volleyball on the planet, and sports were a major part of my identity growing up. I love sports inspiration, marketing, and stories of grit and the power of practice- and as I’ve worked through many creative projects, I often imagine I’m a little athlete facing many of the same struggles I once did on the court- working through fatigue, appreciating practice even on imperfect performance days, and never forgetting the love of the game itself.

I often use a Pomodoro timer when I write, and inspired by this notion of how much creative work and sports have in common, I created a little Coach Pomodoro to give me encouragement while I work on projects- as if I’m playing in a championship game!

Call Me (Short Film)

Call Me is a short documentary film I wrote, directed, shot, and edited about a pop culture phenomenon in state of Alabama - personal injury lawyer Alexander Shunnarah - and the the ongoing advertising battle between regional personal injury lawers.

My film was selected to participate in Alabama’s largest film festival, The Sidewalk Film Festival, and received an encore slot from the audience.
